About Molly

Uhm. These “about” pages are odd. I reserve the right to change this every 5 minutes, okay? But here goes.

My name is Molly Wald, and I’m a photographer living in the southwestern United States. I live in the tiny desert town of Kanab, UT, and I love it. I work for Best Friends Animal Society, a wonderful organization dedicated to saving animals. (I think I need a disclaimer here saying that the opinions written on my website are not reflective of my employer in any way. In fact, if you asked them, they would deny ever knowing me. ‘Molly who? Uhhh… never heard of her.’)

With that out of the way, I adore working for them and get to photograph animals for a living, when not exploring the canyons where I live, which makes my life totally blessed.

I picked up photography by accident after I fell into the Kanab reservoir with my point-and-shoot camera. The camera was destroyed, but it led to the purchase of an SLR, which (eventually) led to a professional career in photography. A lifelong animal lover, I came to Best Friends in 2003 after working at an animal shelter in New Jersey.

When not at work, I enjoy goofing around with my pals (human, canine, and equine), horseback riding, being creative, thinking about the meaning of life, and watching cartoons.

I’d love to hear from you if you’d like to say hi, give feedback, or maybe have a cool idea for a photo project. (I’m always looking for new projects!) My address is mollywald at gmail dot com. (Figure that out, I’m trying to prevent spam.) Thanks so much for stopping by.
